Going Outstation - Visitors Permit

All AIM cars cars are licensed for Self Drive and have an All India Permit, so you have the freedom to drive and explore the entire country. The cars have a commercial license, so make sure you obtain a visitor’s permit when crossing over to a different state. These permits may be valid for a few days, weeks or months, depending on the laws of the respective states.

Stop at the RTO check post and check the car’s documents

Park your vehicle at the RTO check post at the state border to clear the required documentation for obtaining a visitor’s permit. If you are crossing over to the states of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala or Telangana, check the documents folder in the vehicle dashboard as the visitor’s permit might have been issued already and you need not apply for a fresh one. Feel free to contact our customer support for any queries.

Produce the document folder at the check post

Carry the documents folder in the car’s dashboard to the RTO check post and have them verified by the officer in-charge. Prior to issuing the visitor’s permit, the officer will verify the vehicle’s Registration Card (RC), Insurance Papers, All India Permit, Driver's License and the Rent-a-cab license.

Make the payment

Once the documents have been verified, make the required payment in cash and a visitor’s permit will be issued for the tenure of the visit. Make sure you retain the permit for the duration of the journey.
